Watercolour Beach Scene

Here's a watercolour beach scene typical of Northern Australia that my night class tutor helped me with.

The background colours are generally painted wet in wet with glazes over the top. Obviously the pandanus were pained wet on dry.

I hope you enjoy.

Sunday

While out for a ride on Sunday I sketched this scene of the Rapid Creek Pedestrian Bridge. I'm generally happy with it; though the beach on the other side of the creek needs more spacial perspective. Perhaps if I'd painted the beach and trees as a lighter shade they would have appeared further into the distance.

This is a watercolour that I initially sketched on location and then transposed onto a larger piece of watercolour paper at home. I'm happy with the composition, however I think the contrast is too dramatic as the trees draw too much attention. Let me know what you think.

Thailand Scene

I was looking through some photos from a trip to Thailand Last Year and couldn't help but want to paint this scene because it is so colorful. Hope you like it.

Frangipani Flower

I've always loved the Frangipani flower, I've planted a few, and decided that I'd paint this watercolor miniature as an experiment. I turned out ok, however I'll definitely practice my technique. Let me know what you think.

My First Watrcolour Sketch

I was walking past our local Suzuki dealership on Sunday and decided that the Jimnie is comical enough to be a cartoon. I rushed home to draw one. Here it is!
